The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Ok....

First The GOOD, and this is sadly not a frustration at all, but if you are seriously into up and coming musicians that can actually SING then you need to check out http://www.crystaljeffers.com/ . This girl will blow you away, I got to see her in concert at a unknown wine shop, and man not only is she gorgeous but amazingly talented. Her site is new so she is always looking for support by linking her site out or just saying hello. I just saw that she now has some music on her page to listen too. It's these little things that keep me from punching babies due to pure frustration.

Speaking of punching babies let's talk about THE BAD. Simple frustration is the, "Why are there no real fixes to our Nations problems?" I mean in a election year one would think that we are going to have someone people stand up and start giving some answers to the F-up'd issues we have nationwide. I know that some candidates are giving lip service to our issues, but no real facts have been given to the American people as too how we are going to fix the War, Poverty, Job Loss, Recession, Home Lone's, Environment, etc. I am looking toward Obama right now since he maybe offering vague answers to these problems, but he is the only one that is addressing the fact that the damn is broken and before we can build a new damn we need to stop the leaking from the old one before everything is washed away. Plainly put he is the only one that is standing up and saying we need to fix what we have before we can move forward.

On that same note, THE UGLY, "How dumb can people really be?" I know we all want to participate within the current dialogue dealing with the candidates for president. I know we all have some of our own views on the the election, but why are we listening to email forwards from people we don't even know, and even worse from people who believe what they read in a EMAIL FORWARD. I have received emails telling me that Obama is Muslim, that Hillary is a racist, that McCain is funded by evil special interest groups the list goes on. I receive emails from anonymous people that I delete immediately...WHY? BECAUSE ITS A FORWARD FROM SOMEONE I DON'T KNOW. I really never read forwards, since they flood my email, and since most people are to lazy to write me themselves.

Another reason is well, most forwards or anonymous emails are false and are fishing for information about you. Do you really believe in a forward that Hilliary is racist or Obama is Muslim when in the same "inbox" you receive notices that you won a million dollars, that if you send a particular email to 10 or 20 of your friends Bill Gates will send you $100, or that your log in and password was lost at a bank you never heard of and you need to resubmit your information...really....I mean really really?

Don't be an idiot, don't forward crap to your co-workers, friends, or family saying, "Check this out OMG" when in fact if they read it and realize that you can be that much of a chode for sending /believing such nonsenses that they question wanting to know you...do you really want that? I hope not, let me tell you my frustration comes from people like this, that read political information in a forwarded email and then go vote!

Thanks for believing the crap in your inbox, by the way if you want to send me your personal information I will make sure all your dreams come true. Just include your bank account, full name, and social security number and I will double the money you send me in only 1 hour, that's right 1 hour. How can you lose...schmuck!

New Year...New Rants

First of all I know that I do not blog everyday...so when I do blog you all should be grateful.
Secondly I do not plan to blog everyday this New Year; I do plan to only blog about things that are really frustrating...so with that said lets look at a new one:

New Frustration is, "Oil hits $100 dollars a gallon the same day that the Iowa voters come out and support a Democrat...coincidence I THINK NOT!"

Yes I know this sounds like a conspiracy theory, but lets just look at some of the lose facts that I misread or made up.

For the past eight years the current administration has undoubtedly fucked up just about everything that made this country great. No I am not anti-American but I am anti-stupid! We are now in the nation's biggest deficit we have ever seen, we have nearly zero foreign political clout in the world, and the Euro is 1.50 to our 1 dollar. So with the country slowly slipping into manic depression and owing more debt than a graduate level art major we now have gas prices raising higher and higher everyday.

Now the experts will tell you that supply and demand is a huge factor in our gas prices. Meaning America uses more gas in a day that can be produced in the same 24 hours. Which is sadly true, we are addicted to gas as much as a lonely house wife is to Opera. However, did anyone else notice that in the past eight years our administration has allowed gas prices to rise? I know we went to war over oil, but hell you would think we would see some sort of benefit by now...dontcha? Also has anyone else noticed that the president's cabinet (as well as old chuckles himself) all have stock, positions, or money in oil. Hum...a mystery as to why gas prices would rising.

I say the current administration has been willfully and knowingly manipulating gas and oil production and reserves to solely benefit their pocket books...possibly since most of them thought they would be impeached by now any way and needed some soft cash to cushion their fall from grace. This gets me to my current frustration, now that there is light at the end of the tunnel and 43% of the Iowa voters chose a Democrat I find it highly suspicious that gas prices would be rising the same day. The voters demonstrate that it is time for a change, and the fat cats are hurrying themselves to make as much money as possible before the preverbal "good times" run out. Oh and it is only at the expense of well EVERYONE!

I personally laugh at our current condition since all it took was a nation of apathy and complacency for this to come about, and now those same people are looking for some poor guy to come in and try to fix the hemorrhaging that is our current United States. I am sure that the poor sap that gets the job will certainly be able to live up to all the promises he/she made on the campaign trail. Please not the sarcasm, I mean this person will only have to look forward right? Or will he/she have to put humpty dumpty together again with only lose instructions and oven mits on their hands. Think about it...it’s really hard to do anything with oven mits on...except take things out of the oven...take the metaphor for what it is you judging bastards.

Remember

Hello Everyone,

Well it looks like I am settling into my schedule of posting every Thursday...or at least that is what I would like to believe. This one is lone again, but I will shorting the others sorry some frustrations take up room

Today's frustration comes for a passion of mine, as well as rants from particular friends of mine. Who are these friends, well they are soldiers. Soldiers who are or have served time overseas fighting in our current conflict. Some have been over there more than once.

So today's rant is, "Why do we so easily forget our Soldiers, even when we are at war!?"

Let me preface this frustration with the fact that I really do not care what your political, ideological, or spiritual belief is. I am not commenting on the war here (a whole other frustration) nor do I care to see posts concerning the war. What I would like to focus on is the men and women fighting on foreign soil. Those far from home waiting, fighting, and dying to come back to American soil. So drop your agenda and lets talk.

I go with the belief of "Out of sight out of mind" mentally when addressing why American citizens have become complacent to those serving in the armed forces. We see the damage on the news and we see soldiers fighting or living in Iraq, but they all look a like and then we change the channel to Stargate or Star Trek. Thus we remove ourselves from the war at home only to watch and engage the fictional military characters fighting a villain we don't have to understand. We see brief updates in the media concerning those who died in the war with a list of names that run up the screen at break neck speeds. We just do not have to connect with the reality that soldiers, American men and women, are fighting and surviving in a place that doesn't have a Starbucks (YET!)

I find it interesting that many junior and high school kids across our nation actually knows someone that served, serving, or died in Iraq. America knows that our kin are getting their boots dirty, but we seem content on waiting for them to come home before we acknowledge that they were gone. From the many men and women serving in the armed forces I have spoken (more to follow) with they seem "let down" or "forgotten" by the very people they believe they are fighting for.

I know we just celebrated Memorial Day, but let me ask you and try to be honest "How many of you actually remembered or thought about a soldier(s) that fought for our country?" Don't get me wrong I am not in the military and I rarely participate in military anything, but everyday the soldiers are on my mind. Hopefully, after this frustration they will be on your mind as well.

So Voice what can we do? Good question, You can begin to participate in the conversation and remembrance of our brave soldiers fighting right now. You can join organizations or donate time in helping send goods or cards to the soldiers overseas. You can start separating your ideals against the war by remembering those who are actually there. What I have found very helpful as well is if you know someone that has a family member overseas, talk to them about that person. Do not forget or ignore those who are trying to do what they believe is right. For most of us we never even get a chance to truly defend our beliefs, so lets try to stand by those who do.

I have not sat on the sidelines and nor should you. Please check out http://www.heroes4heroes.org/ or http://news.fanboy.tv/no15_mon_may_21_2007__chris_mccroskey.htm for more information on what you can do to boost the moral of the men and women fighting overseas. Also after looking at the site, if you know someone that is serving in Iraq right now please send their mailing info to dallas@heroes4heroes.org so we can send them stuff right away.
